Shipping, admiralty and
international trade

We handle applications relating to ship arrests, injunctions, limitation proceedings, preliminary acts, ’Mare del Nord’ inspection orders and other matters in the Singapore Admiralty Courts. We also advise on matters involving investigations by the local marine agencies and act in the defence of prosecutions by these agencies. Where issues arise elsewhere in the region, we work together with local lawyers in those jurisdictions.

In addition, our specialist lawyers have dealt with cases involving FPSOs and FSUs, tankers, chemical tankers, bulk carriers, container ships and feeder vessels, heavy lift vessels, offshore support and supply vessels, tugs and barges, and specialist crafts.

Shipping often goes hand in hand with international trade. Members of our team can provide you with assistance at each stage of the international trade and supply of commodities in which you may be involved in, from drafting contracts through to representing clients where disputes arise. We advise on transactions involving physical and paper trades, derivatives, shipping, storage, trade finance and trade sanctions and other regulatory issues. Our experience covers both hard and soft commodities in various markets including ores, coal, oil and petrochemicals, agri-commodities and oleochemicals.
